1. What research, studies and scientific findings support CurcuActiv?

A: Here is a sampling of the information available about the way CurcuActiv’s ingredients improve memory and cognition, defy brain aging, and improve your overall health.

Tumeric has long been touted as one of the world’s most important plant-based extracts.

Turmeric (Curcumin longa) has been used by Indian healers for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. Since then, more than 6,500 scientific papers have been published on the dozens of healing properties of curcumin, the most active constituent of this wonder herb.

Researchers at the UCLA age-related memory Disease Research Center now confirm that curcumin can:

  1. Keep synapses free of beta amyloid plaque.
  2. Repair brain tangles.
  3. Fight inflammation that can damage neurons.

However, curcumin is known for its notoriously poor absorbtion, so you’ll never actually feel the benefits of most curcumin products. This is because regular curcumin gets “inactivated” and quickly excreted from the body—never reaching the target tissues and organs.

A study called “Bioavailability of Curcumin: Problems and Promises” published in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics reported that while curcumin is an amazing brain-saving nutrient — it’s bioavailability is hindered by:

  • Poor absorption
  • Rapid metabolism
  • And rapid systemic elimination

CurcuActiv’s special ingredient LONGVIDA® solves these problems.

While ordinary curcumin used in other brain formulas have a blood half-life of 60 minutes, LONGVIDA® has a half-life of 420 minutes, which means it lasts 600-percent longer in the bloodstream.

More than a dozen research studies and clinical trials in independent labs have been completed on Longvida, all affirming its health-giving properties.

CurcuActiv’s main ingredient, LONGVIDA®, is clinically proven to improve cognition, memory and mood.

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, healthy older adults were given 400 mg daily (the same dosage in CurcuActiv) of LONGVIDA®, or a placebo for 30 days to measure the effects on cognition, memory and mood.

Using two well-establised tests, performance assessments were measured prior to taking LONGVIDA®, as well as at 1 hour, 3 hours and day 30. The LONGVIDA® group was able to recall more accurately after a single dose. Specifically, their test scores improved by an impressive 16 percent.

Magnesium promotes learning and memory function.

According to the National Institutes of Health, 68 percent of Americans are deficient in magnesium, a mineral that is essential for brain electrical activity. In numerous studies, magnesium has shown notable benefits in cognitive and brain health. Magnesium citrate (the form used in CurcuActiv) is far better absorbed than magnesium oxide, the one most often used in mineral supplements and multivitamins.

Researchers at MIT found that elevating magnesium levels:

  • Boosts the speed of brain transmissions by 160 percent
  • Increases memory recall by 56 percent
  • Enhances brain plasticity
  • Increases the number of synapses

But you won’t get those results with ordinary magnesium. Know why? You guessed it: blocked at the barrier patrol. That’s why CurcuActiv uses a proprietary form of low molecular weight magnesium. Called magnesium citrate, it can cross the blood-brain barrier and deliver results directly to your brain.

Deficiencies in vitamin B12 are linked to poor brain function

Researchers at Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center found that older people with vitamin B12 deficiency had the smallest brains and the lowest scores on tests measuring thinking, reasoning, and memory.

Every 67 seconds, an American develops age-related memory decline. Studies from the U.S. Framingham trial show that one in four adults are deficient in vitamin B12 — and nearly half the population has lower than optimal levels of this important brain nutrient.

So, in addition to poor memory and cognitive decline — adults who are low in B12 also experience brain shrinking — and increase their risk of age-related memory decline! Another study showed the seniors with the lowest B12 had a six-fold greater rate of brain shrinkage compared with those who had the highest levels.

Boosting your brain levels by taking the highly bio-active form of vitamin B12 found in CurcuActiv will combat brain shrinkage and age-related decline.
